Set in Virginia, the story begins with a husband and wife murder-for-hire team on what was supposed to be their last job before retiring, while a middle-class family of six struggles to come to grips with the terror attacks and ensuing chaos.
I enjoyed this new hybrid of espionage thriller set in the post-apocalypse. As usual, Rudolph created well-developed characters that readers are sure to love or love to hate. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
